About Tanjun Mold Inspections

Tanjun Mold Inspections was founded by Charles Takahashi with a clear mission: provide honest, independent mold inspection services free from the conflict of interest that plagues the industry.

The name Tanjun comes from the Japanese characters 単 (tan, meaning "single") and 純 (jun, meaning "pure"). Together they mean "simply pure" — a commitment to straightforward, unbiased results.

Before entering the mold inspection industry, Charles spent years in information technology — specializing in technical writing, data analysis, server and network engineering, and disaster recovery planning. That analytical background shapes how Tanjun approaches every inspection: methodical, thorough, and data-driven.

Unlike most mold companies that both inspect and remediate — creating a financial incentive to find problems — Tanjun is strictly test-only. We have no remediation division, no referral kickbacks, and no reason to inflate findings. When we tell you your home is clear, you can trust it. When we identify a problem, you know it's real.

Every inspection includes professional-grade moisture and humidity measurements, visual assessment, and a detailed findings report. Air and surface samples are analyzed by Eurofins Built Environment Testing, an AIHA-accredited laboratory, with results typically available within 24-48 hours.
